The HMPPS [Private Sector] Outdoor Quality Flag is manufactured in the UK using durable knitted polyester designed for regular outdoor use. Produced in Swansea by MrFlag®, these outdoor printed flags are designed to provide strong flying performance, durability and vibrant colour reproduction across a wide range of outdoor conditions.

Available in both standard knitted polyester and the exclusive Rhyfelwr™ polyester option, these flags are suitable for residential, organisational and commercial flagpole display.

Outdoor Quality HMPPS Flags Made in the UK

MrFlag® Outdoor Quality Printed Flags are manufactured to achieve optimum flying weights using materials selected specifically for the flag industry. The knitted polyester option combines fly-ability with durability, while the Rhyfelwr™ option is designed for locations requiring a more durable outdoor flag.

Bright Colour & High Show-Through Printing

MrFlag® flags are produced using vibrant RGB artwork and an 8-colour bi-directional print process designed to force high ink volumes through the fabric weave.

Our outdoor quality printed flags regularly test at approximately 95% show-through on the reverse side of the flag, helping maintain strong visibility and colour clarity from both sides during display.

Poor reverse visibility on flags is often caused by reduced ink volumes or lower-quality production processes.

Designed for Regular Outdoor Use

Our outdoor quality printed flags are designed to provide a balance between durability and strong flying performance in lighter wind conditions. Heavier sewn flags can often spend less time airborne in lower wind due to their additional weight.

No flag lasts forever, and lifespan will vary depending on weather exposure, wind strength and flying conditions.

Many customers report standard knitted polyester flags lasting between 12–18 months or longer, although replacement frequency varies depending on location and usage.

You can help extend the lifespan of outdoor flags by:

taking them down overnight
avoiding severe weather conditions
ensuring flagpoles are free from rough edges or protrusions

Anti Fray Netting Option

The optional anti fray netting consists of white netting sewn to the fly edge of the flag. It is commonly believed to help prolong the life of a flag by fraying before the main body of the fabric.

MrFlag® offers this option for customers who specifically request it, although we do not actively recommend it.

Manufacturing & Dispatch Information

These outdoor quality printed flags are made to order. Customers should normally allow 5-7 days for manufacture and despatch.
